My opinion:

Ah Meng specializes and excels in traditional Singapore dim sum. Every food item is fresh and handmade using long established methods. For this food review, my family has tried their gula meleka tapioca kuehs (1 box of 5 items for $1.10) and sweet potato ondeh ondehs (1 box of 4 items for $1.60).

Gula melaka tapioca kuehs:

Each food item cost $0.24, which was quite affordable to Singaporeans. The kuehs were chewy, "elastic", fragrant, mildly sweet and covered with coconut shreds.

Sweet potato ondeh ondehs:

Each food item cost $0.40, which was a bit expensive, since I could get a siew mai for $0.50 at nearby coffee shop stalls. The ondeh ondehs were addictive, crunchy, moist, sweet and had a 50 percent resemblance to Chinese dessert tang yuans. My mother loved the food so much that she asked me to buy at least 3 boxes if I visited Hong Lim Food Centre again!

In conclusion:

The dim sum here was good, tasty and value for money. If you have a large family and needs to stock up on food items, Ah Meng is highly recommended by our website.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

They should set up a personal website and carry out more promotional sales.
