My opinion:
Yi Dun Ba Pin has replaced Ipoh Curry Noodle in stall 108 of Albert Centre Food Centre. The owners sell traditional Singapore herbal soup and pork rib soup. For this food review, my mother and I have tasted their ABC pork rib soup with rice for lunch.
There were 3 pieces of pork ribs, 2 pieces of carrot, 1 piece of corn, 1 piece of potato and 1 bowl of soup in our food portion. Obviously, the small amount of meat ingredients was not enough to satisfy the hunger of an adult.
Let's move on to the food quality. Pork rib pieces were juicy, soft and tender. The bones were soft enough that we could bite and swallow them (major plus points). Carrot and potato pieces were huge and of the right texture (not too rough or soft and melted with each bite). Soup was flavorful, slightly too oily and filled with potato goodness. Rice was warm, well cooked and did not suffered from dryness, roughness or sticky issues.
In conclusion, the food here was delicious, healthy and would have score a higher rating for the stall if the owners were more generous in giving out the meat ingredients. Therefore, we would advise our blog readers to be cautious with their pork rib soup. Buy one bowl and try it first. If the taste was to your liking, you could return in the future with your family members or friends.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
Add more pork ribs to the soup.
