My opinion:
Shun Xing means "smooth and arising" in Chinese. This stall specializes in traditional Singapore Chinese noodles. For this review, I have tried their wanton noodles for lunch.
There were 3 steamed wantons, 1 bowl of soup, 5 pieces of char siew and moderate amount of noodles in my food portion. Steamed wantons were chewy and delicious. Wanton skin was silky, smooth, mixed nicely with the meat ingredients and did not tear apart easily.
Char siew was juicy, soft, tender and did not have charred or fatty portions. Their tossed noodles were among the most springy I have tasted in recent years (major plus points). Noodle sauce was tasty, thick and combined nicely with the awesome noodles. The only complaint I had was that the green chili slices were "missing in action".
To sum up, the Chinese noodles here were economical and value for money. The owners are highly advised to improve their customer service and add green chili slices to their food. If you are a noodles fans living or working near southern Singapore (Bukit Merah, CBD, Redhill, Tiong Bahru), this stall is strongly recommended by my website.
