My opinion:

Kay Lee means "beautiful, benefiting or clean" in Chinese while Zhujiang is the name of a river in China's Guangdong province. This Bedok North hawker stall sells traditional Singapore char siew rice, duck rice, roasted delicacies, dumpling noodles and wanton noodles. For this food review, my mother and I have tried their signature char siew and roasted pork rice for $6.00. In terms of price, the food here cost at least $2.50 more than what their Bedok competitors sold.

There were 10 pieces of char siew, 7 pieces of roasted pork and moderate amount of rice in our takeaway packet. Char siew pieces were dry, tasteless and small sized. Roasted pork was bland and had a mild oil taste. Pork skin was soft and not crispy enough.

Black sauce was not too thick or watery and mixed well with the rice. Their chili sauce was appealing, robust, spicy, sourish and greatly increased our appetite for the food. Rice was warm, well cooked and did not have any dryness, roughness and sticky problems.

In a nutshell, the food here was costly and did not live up to its immense hype. Unless you are about to faint from hunger, our advice is to travel 30 seconds to Bedok North Block 216 Food Centre for better quality food.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Thoroughly review the char siew's preparation process and reduce the prices of all their dishes.
