My opinion:

Shi Li Xiang stands for "fragrance in the food" in Chinese. The hanyu pinyin may also imply "you can smell the fragrance of the food in ten miles". This stall sells traditional Singapore Japanese food including chicken rice, curry rice and salmon rice. I have tried their curry katsu set for dinner.

There were 8 pieces of chicken meat, 2 pieces of potato, 1 bowl of rice and moderate amount of rice. Chicken meat was juicy, tender and warm. Chicken skin was a bit too rough for my liking. Curry was thick and mildly sweet. People who love spicy or sourish curry may be in for disappointment.

Potato pieces were big, soft and melted with each bite. Although pearl rice was well cooked and mixed nicely with the curry, it was not fragrant and lacked the addictive or "wow" factor. Soup was tasty but lacked seaweed ingredients.

To sum up, the food here was economical but had a few flaws that prevented me from visiting them in the near future. The owners are strongly advised to review the chicken meat cooking process and experiment with another kind of pearl rice. Therefore, I will only recommend this stall to curry rice and Japanese food fans who live in Bedok North.
