My opinion:

As of recent years, Hot plate is the only hawker stall in Tiong Bahru Market that sells traditional Singapore Western food (monopoly). For this review, my mother and I have tried their chicken chop for lunch. Although the price was "seductive", food quantity was severely compromised. We were given 1 small chicken chop, 1 fried egg, pathetic portion of french fries and small amount of salad with baked beans. Bakery product and butter were considered "missing in action".

Although the chicken chop was fleshy, tender and well cooked, it was too tiny to satisfy the hunger of a teenager. Meat sauce was too runny and thin. Fried egg was delicious and had crispy edges. French fries were cold, fluffy and soft. Salad with baked beans were crunchy, healthy, moist and added a few last minute bonus points for the food's flavor.

In a nutshell, the food here was average tasting, lacking in ingredients and had too many glaring errors that prevented us from becoming their fans. If Hot Plate encounters a rival in the same hawker centre, their food standards will probably improve.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Greatly increase the amount of ingredients, make the meat sauce thicker and ensure the crispiness of the french fries.
