Will I come back again in 6 months' time? No, there are better alternatives
My opinion:
Yi Fa means "a billion dollars richer" or "huge amount of prosperity" in Chinese. This stall specializes in traditional Singapore kway chap. I have tried their set meal for lunch.
There were 9 slices of pig intestines, 7 pieces of pork meat, 6 pieces of tau pork and 4 slices of marinated egg (1 egg) and moderate amount of rice sheets. There were no pork skin and tau kwa.
All the food items were not properly marinated. With the exception of tau pok, all the food items also did not soak up the goodness of the braising stock. Pig intestines were chewy, delicious but small sized. Pork meat was juicy, tender but had a lot of fatty portions.
Rice sheets were silky, smooth and did not have an artificial taste. Soup was few in portions and did not have a herbal taste. The MSG taste was "powerful" enough that my tongue could detect it on my first try of the soup.
In a nutshell, the food here was average tasting, few in portions and more costly than most hawker kway chap.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
Spend more time marinating the food ingredients and review the soup production process.
