My opinion:

Li Guang Ji is very famous in Old Airport Road and the owners specialize in traditional Singapore Teochew porridge. For this food review, I have tried their fish porridge for lunch. There were 8 slices of fish, 10 pieces of lettuce and moderate amount of porridge.

Fish slices were delicious, fresh, juicy and succulent. Lettuce pieces were crunchy, healthy and well cooked. The entire soup was extremely addictive and filled with both fish and veggie goodness. Chili was spicy, sourish and had a powerful ginger taste (most likely use was for customers to remove pungent fish smell or taste).

Porridge was not the sticky gravy you would normally get at non Teochew food stalls. It was like well cooked grain rice immersed with flavorful soup. You would either love it or hate it. For me, I was always a fan of Teochew porridge. Honestly, Singapore is filled with hawker stalls that sell sticky porridge.
In conclusion, their food was economical and shiok. I will visit this stall regularly to check for consistency. If you are a porridge fan, please bookmark this webpage so you will not miss out on this Singapore east food "gem".
