My opinion:

Jia means "appraisal" in Chinese. This Jalan Besar hawker stall sells traditional Singapore chicken rice and curry chicken noodles. For this food review, my mother and I have tasted their white cut chicken rice for lunch.

The owners were generous in giving out ingredients. There were 9 pieces of chicken meat, 1 bowl of soup and moderate amount of rice in our food portion. Chicken meat was fresh, healthy, lean, small sized and came from the breast area. Although the rice did not suffer from sticky issues, it was flaky and had almost no chicken fragrance. Soup was mild tasting and not too oily or salty.

To sum up, the food here was economical, plentiful but badly let down by the average tasting rice. If you are a meat lover, our advice is to buy their chicken meat but leave the rice meals alone.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Thoroughly review the rice's preparation process.
