My opinion:

Nanyang means "southern sea" in Chinese. This Hong Lim hawker stall specializes and excels in traditional Singapore herbal soup. For this food review, I have tried their watercress pork rib soup with rice for lunch.

The owners were extremely generous in giving out food ingredients. There were 8 pieces of pork ribs, 1 bowl of soup, 1 bowl of rice and huge amount of watercress in my food portion. Seriously, this amount of food could satisfy the hunger of 2 young children.

The pork rib pieces were firm, medium sized and did not have too much bones. Watercress was delectable, fresh, healthy, juicy and soft. Soup was fragrant, mildly bitter and warm. Rice was well cooked and did not suffer from dryness, roughness or sticky issues.

In conclusion, the food here was economical, heavenly and value for money. If you want to enjoy good pork rib soup at bargain prices, Nanyang should be high on your "must visit" list.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

They are applauded for their service to Hong Lim residents and are advised to continue the good work. I will visit them regularly to check for consistency.
