My opinion:

Old K is very famous in the Chinatown area for their seafood and usually attracts a queue of more than 6 people during lunch time. For this food review, I have tried their fried fish soup with rice for lunch.

There were 6 pieces of fried fish, half a fried egg, 1 bowl of soup and 1 bowl of rice in my food portion. The fried fish pieces were addictive, crispy, firm, medium sized, well fried and among the best that I have tasted in recent years (major plus points).

Besides fried fish meat, the soup had fried egg and lettuce slices as ingredients. Doufu, seaweed and tomato slices were considered "missing in action". Although the rejuvenating soup had both egg and veggie fragrance, it had almost zero fish taste. Rice was well cooked and did not suffer from dryness, roughness or sticky problems.

In conclusion, the food here was delicious and could satisfy my weekly craving for fish soup. If you are a seafood fan living or working near Singapore South, Lao K's food products are strongly recommended by my website.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Add more fish meat, introduce seaweed as a soup ingredient and review the soup's preparation process.
