My opinion:

Lai Xing means "coming prosperity" in Chinese. The owners specialize in traditional Singapore mixed vegetable rice. My mother and I have tried their rice meal for lunch. For this review, we chose curry chicken, hot dog with potatoes and marinated egg as our food items.

Although chicken meat was huge, juicy, soft and tender, it was slightly dry and lacking in curry taste. In fact, the owners never gave me curry gravy for my rice (minus point)! Hot dog with potatoes were delicious, mildly sweet, well cooked and had a thick potato fragrance. Egg was addictive, delicious and well marinated. Rice was slightly dry, rough and did not mix well with the other food ingredients.

To sum up, the food here was cheap, plentiful and had a few minor flaws that prevented this stall from greatness. Therefore, I will only recommend Lai Xing to mixed vegetable rice fans living near Bugis, Jalan Besar and Lavender.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

First, add some curry to the food. Second, the preparation and production processes of the rice must be reviewed.
