My opinion:
Zhong Xing means "central and arising" or "loyalty and arising in Chinese. This Bedok North hawker stall sells traditional Singapore meat ball soup and pig's viscera soup. For this food review, I have tasted their pig's organ soup with rice for lunch.
There were 6 pieces of pork meat, 6 pieces of pork liver, 3 slices of pig intestine, 3 meat balls, 1 bowl of soup and moderate amount of rice in my food portion. Pork meat was juicy, soft and tender. Pork liver was delicious, well cooked and not too rough or tough. Although the pig intestines were chewy and fresh, they were too little to have a huge impact on the food's flavor or the overall rating. Meat balls were tasty and filled with pork meat goodness.
The soup is the area where most hawker stall owners get "wiped out" in their food ratings. Sadly, history repeated itself again as the soup's salted veggie taste was much more power than the pork taste. I did not have the addiction or urge to finish the soup after I was done with all the food items. Rice was well cooked and did not have any dryness, roughness or sticky issues. Chili was a bit too sourish for my liking and did not mix well with the pork meat.
To sum up, the food here was cheap, fulfilling and had a few minor flaws that prevented the stall from greatness. Therefore, I will only recommend Zhong Xing's food to hardcore pig's organ soup fans living in Bedok as there are too many tastier alternatives throughout our island nation.
