Will I come back in 6 months' time? No, there are better alternatives
My opinion:
This Toa Payoh hawker stall sells traditional Singapore curry rice and mixed vegetable rice. My mother and I have tried their rice meal for lunch. For this food review, we chose "fu chok", hot dog with potato slices, marinated egg and pork ball as our food items.
"Fu chok" was moist, plain tasting and did not mix well with the rice. Potato slices were average tasting, dry and had a strange sourish taste. Egg was delicious and well marinated. Pork ball was juicy, medium sized and did not have a pungent smell or taste. Although the rice did not have sticky issues, it was also too fluffy and soft.
In conclusion, the food here was cheap, fulfilling and had a few flaws that prevented us from visiting them in 6 months' time. Unless you are a mixed vegetable rice fan living in Toa Payoh, we will suggest you give this stall a miss and visit other alternatives in nearby coffee shops.
