My opinion:

Lau Chong Kee specializes in traditional Singapore bakery products. For this food review, my family has tasted their custard pie and red bean sponge cake.

Both products were cheap and medium sized. Custard pie had crunchy skin and creamy sweet paste. This bakery product was so good that I immediately craved for more after finishing one.

Red bean sponge cake was addictive, soft and had thick paste. My only complaint was that the owners put the paste right at the bottom of the bakery product instead of embedding it in the middle portion. This act was highly unprofessional and made certain portions of the cake too sweet while others were too plain tasting.

To sum up, the food here was economical, tasty and extremely close to greatness status. If you are a bakery fan living near Singapore South, Lau Chong Kee is strongly recommended by my website.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Put the paste in the middle portion of all their bakery products.
