My opinion:
Xin Lu means "new road" in Chinese. The owners specializes and excels in traditional Singapore Teochew noodles. This Mei Chin hawker stall was relocated from Margaret Drive and was featured in Mediacorp's "Makan Places Lost and Found 4". For this review, I decided to tried out their dry fishball meepok for lunch.
The owners were extremely generous in giving out food ingredients. There were 5 fishballs and large amount of mee pok in my takeaway packet. Honestly, this amount of food was enough to satisfy the hunger of an adult and a child.
Fishballs were addictive, delicious, fresh, homemade and the largest that I have tasted in Singapore hawker stalls (major plus points). Although mee pok was plentiful, I find it a bit too dry and rough. Chili was hot, spicy and mixed flawlessly with the other ingredients.
In conclusion, the food here was tasty, well prepared and could satisfy my weekly craving for Teochew noodles. If you are having a huge gathering of friends or relatives, Xin Lu's economical and humongous fishballs are highly recommended by my website.
