My opinion:

Fong sells traditional Singapore Chinese rojak, cuttlefish kang kong, dumplingsand otahs. My mother and I have tasted their Chinese rojak ($3.00) and their big spicy fish otah ($1.00) for dinner. There were 6 cucumber slices, 6 jicama slices, 8 pineapple slices, 13 you zha kueh pieces and moderate amount of sauce in our takeaway packet.

Chinese rojak: All the fruits and veggies were crunchy, healthy, juicy, mildly sweet and not too sourish. You zha kueh pieces were rough and not crispy enough. Sauce was thick but extremely salty. Honestly, my mother and I had to drink a few cups of plain water in order to finish the food.

Spicy fish otah: The lone otah was medium sized and silky smooth. As we tasted the food, it was also too salty. The salty taste was so "powerful" that it totally overwhelmed the fish taste. Fortunately, my mother managed to dilute the awkward taste with home cooked rice.

To sum up, their Chinese rojak and otahs were economical but too salty for human consumption. We will also advise our blog readers to "arm" themselves with cups of water before attempting the food here.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

First, they should ensure the crispiness of the you zha kueh pieces. Second, the amount of salt in the food preparation and production processes must be greatly reduced.
