My opinion:
In case younger Singaporeans do not know who Amy Yap (Yip) is, she is a Chinese movie actress in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She was well known as a sex symbol for her F cup breasts and really slim waist. Some ladies may be angry with associating human breasts with meat buns. Honestly, it is really hard to take them seriously with this name. They should also be happy that the actress did not take any legal action for using her name without her permission.
Let's move on to the food. Their siew mais are among the best that I have ever tasted in Singaporean coffee shops and hawker centres. I dare to say that their siew mais are even better tasting than those sold in hotels and restaurants. The pork meat used is extremely fresh and does not have a pungent smell that most Singaporean siew mais have. The owners even put small chestnut ingredients into the siew mais to make them more addictive, chewy and crunchy. One of their siew mai cost only $0.60 (which is quite affordable to most Singaporeans).
The meat used in the char siew and pork buns are flavorful, juicy and tender. I need to repeat myself again, the meat does not have a pungent smell unlike a lot of Singaporean dim sum. The vegetable buns are delicious and sweeter than their rivals (due to more carrot ingredients). Their small buns cost around $0.70 each. All their siew mais and buns are smaller compared to their rivals but who cares? The high food quality set by this coffee shop stall really put their Singaporean rivals to shame.
