My opinion:
Wo Ai Lao Huo Tang means "I love old herbal soup" in Chinese. This stall is a newcomer to Hong Lim Food Centre and the owners specialize in traditional Singapore herbal soup. For this food review, I have tasted their ABC pork rib soup with rice for lunch.
There were 3 pork rib pieces, 8 carrot pieces, 3 potato pieces, 1 bowl of soup and 1 bowl of rice in my food portion. Pork rib pieces were fleshy, medium sized and supple.
Carrots and potatoes were well cooked and not too hard or soft. Although the soup was supposed to be healthy, nutritious and plain tasting, there was a thick coat of oil on top of it. Our blog readers are advised to use their spoons to scoop up the soup's top layers and dumped them away. Rice was well cooked, plentiful and did not have any sticky issues.
To sum up, the food here was average tasting, lacking in meat ingredients and had some errors that prevented me from visiting them in the near future. The owners really need to improve their food quality soon as they are competing with more than 7 soup stalls in the food centre (4 pork rib soup and 3 fish soup business).
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
