Will I come back again in 6 months' time? No, there are better alternativesMy opinion:
Hong Kong Mei Mei sells traditional Singapore claypot rice. There is a huge demand for their food since they are the only stall in the hawker centre that sells claypot rice. Customers usually have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for their food (a significant minus point).
The price of their chicken claypot rice was $5.20 ($0.20 extra costs for takeaway plastic container). The owners cooked the claypot food ingredients only after orders had been placed. This ensured the food remained hot after a few hours (but was also the main reason for the horrendous queue).
The food greatly lacked ingredients. There were absolutely no vegetables. There were 4 small pieces of chicken meat and 4 thin slices of lar cheong. The rice portions were so small that the food actually filled up half the plastic container. The chili slices provided were not too hot, just right for claypot rice (suitable for people who cannot take spicy food).
Recently, I revisited Hong Kong Mei Mei and was shocked to learn that the owners were now selling beverages instead of claypot rice. For this food review, I have tasted their lemon barley drink for $1.40. Although this drink had a small lemon slice, it was extremely "watered down" and devoid of barley goodness. I actually finished the drink in less than 2 minute. Therefore, I decided to maintain their food's rating at 63/100.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
First, add more ingredients for their claypot rice. Second, reduce the amount of ice cubes in the cold beverages.
