My opinion:

Shun Ji means "smooth sailing and lucky" in Chinese. The owners sell traditional Singapore mixed vegetable rice. My mother and I have tried their rice meal for lunch. For this review, we chose braised chicken, curry chicken feet and fried egg as our food items.

Although braised chicken meat was soft and tender, it was also too plain tasting. Chicken feet was silky smooth but lacked curry flavor. Egg was bland, cold and not properly fried. Rice was a bit too soft and did not mix well with the other food ingredients.

In a nutshell, the food here was cheap, plentiful and had a few glaring errors that prevented me from visiting them in the near future. Unless you are living or working in the Chinatown area, our advice is to give this stall a miss and visit other mixed vegetable rice alternatives in nearby hawker centres (Chinatown Complex or People's Park Complex).

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Add some flavor to the meat items, make the curry thicker and reduce the amount of water in the rice's cooking process.
