My opinion:

Xing Xing means "arising" in Chinese. This coffee shop stall sells traditional Singapore ban mian, fish soup and seafood. I have tried their fried fish soup set for lunch. There were 8 pieces of fried fish, 1 bowl of soup and moderate amount of rice in my food portion.

Fried fish pieces range from small to medium in size. They were juicy, soft but lacked the fried taste. The bowl of soup had anchovy, doufu, fried fish, tomato slice and vegetables as ingredients. It was oily and had an overwhelming anchovy taste. Although doufu and veggies were healthy and plain tasting, they mix well with the rice and greatly increased my appetite.

To sum up, the food here was cheap, fulfilling but had some flaws that prevented me from visiting them in the near future. The owners are advised to fry the fish pieces for a longer period of time. To prevent the awkward tasting and oily soup problems, they should replace anchovy with more doufu and veggie ingredients. Therefore, I will only recommend Xing Xing to Bedok fish soup fans who are not so particular about the soup taste.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

First, fry the fish pieces more thoroughly. Second, check the anchovy ingredients. Third, add doufu and veggie ingredients to the soup preparation process.
