Thoughts after eating: Average and expensive
Value for money: 63/100
Will I come back in 6 months' time? No, there are better alternatives
My opinion:
This Ang Mo Kio coffee shop stall specializes in traditional Singapore Western cuisine. For this food review, my mother and I have tried their chicken cutlet for lunch. In terms of price, this was the most expensive kopitiam Western food that we have ever tasted.
There were 1 chicken cutlet, 3 lettuce slices 2 tomato slices and small amount of french fries in our takeaway packet. The bakery product, butter, baked beans and salad sauce were considered "missing in action" (major minus points).
Chicken cutlet was huge, juicy, tender and warm. As I tasted the food more, we noticed that the owners did not put too much flour to coat the chicken meat (this may be a minus or plus point depending on individual tastes).
The veggie ingredients need to be edible and fresh for human consumption but there were a lot of dark spots on the lettuce slices. French fries were rough, not crispy enough and had an awkward oil taste.
In a nutshell, the food here was average tasting, costly and lacking in ingredients. Unless you are a hardcore Western food fan, my advice is give this stall a miss and visit other food alternatives in nearby Ang Mo Kio 724 hawker centre.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
First, they should add a bakery product and some salad sauce to the food. Second, ensure the crispiness of the chicken cutlets and the french fries.
