Thoughts after eating: Average

Will I come back in 6 months' time? No, there are better alternatives

My opinion:

Meng Hui means "brightness and glory" Chinese. For this food review, my mother and I have tried their cuttlefish kang kong for dinner.

We were given 10 pieces of cuttlefish, 4 pieces of tau pok, peanuts and large amount of kang kong. There were no pineapple slices or you zha kueh in the food.

Cuttlefish was juicy and tender. Tau pok was too small sized to add any significant bonus points to the food's ratings. Kang kong was extremely soft and probably overcooked. The sauce was the food's Achilles' heel as it was too salty and sourish. My mother had to substitute it with chee cheong fun sauce in order to finish the meal.

In conclusion, the food here was average tasting and badly let down by the awkward tasting sauce. Unless you are a hardcore cuttlefish kang kong fan, our advice is to ignore this stall and visit other food alternatives in the same hawker centre.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

First, do not put too much salt in the sauce production process. Second, more tau pok should be added as replacement for "missing in action" pineapple slices and you zha kueh.
