My opinion:
This Queen Street hawker stall sells traditional Southeast Asian Muslim cuisine including lontong, mee goreng and mee rebus. For this food review, my mother and I have tried their mee siam for lunch.
Besides 1 full egg, there were small amount of fried bean curd bits, peanuts and vermicelli in our food portion. This miserly amount of food will not satisfy the hunger of a teenager, let alone an adult.
Egg was cold, medium sized and did not have a pungent smell or taste. Fried bean curds and peanuts were addictive, delicious but too little to add any significant bonus points for the food's ratings.
Vermicelli was well cooked and mixed flawlessly with the other ingredients. Soup was fragrant, mildly sweet, had a traditional taste and among the best that we have tasted in recent months (major plus points). Red chili was sticky, "weak" and made the soup oily.
To sum up, although the mee siam here had really good soup, it had a few glaring errors that prevented us from revisiting this stall in the near future. Unless you are a halal food fan with a small appetite, our advice is to visit nearby coffee shops for better quality food.
