My opinion:
This Queen Street hawker stall sells traditional Singapore barbeque food, ayam merah, lontong, mee goreng and nasi padang. For this food review, My mother and I have tried their ayam merah set meal for lunch. There were 1 chicken thigh, common beans ("cai dou") and moderate amount of rice in our takeaway packet.
Although the chicken thigh was giant sized, it was slightly rough and not juicy enough. Certain portions of the common beans were chewy and delicious while others were crunchy and rough. Rice was well cooked and did not have any sticky issues. Sauce was reddish, robust, spicy, tasty and made the food extremely appetizing.
To sum up, the food here was cheap, plentiful and had a few flaws that prevented us from visiting them in the near future. Unless you are a hardcore supporter of traditional Indonesian cuisine, our advice is to give this stall miss.
