My opinion:
Peter Fried Kway Teow is very famous in Tanjong Pagar for their Penang and seafood fried kway teow. Their business has the honor of being the first hawker stall to be featured in 2 seasons of Mediacorp's "Makan Places Lost and Found" (Season 3 and 5). I have tried their black traditional fried kway teow for dinner.
The owners were generous with the cockles but stingy in giving out egg (almost nonexistent) and kway teow ingredients. There were also 3 fish cakes, 3 slices of lar cheong, bean sprouts and small amount of vegetable ingredients. The food was not only fragrant and well fried but was one of the least oily and salty fried kway teow that I ever tasted. I did not know what "secret ingredients" it had. I tasted something "extra" which made the kway teow so addictive and delicious.
In conclusion, their food was damn good and would have earn an endorsement from our website (at least a rating of 90/100) if they were more generous with egg and kway teow ingredients. Honestly, how much does a few extra grams of kway teow cost? I will highly recommend their traditional fried kway teow to Tanjong Pagar residents. If you are an adventurous fried kway teow fan, I will suggest you try out their seafood fried kway teow.
Ways for the owners to improve their ratings:
Add more kway teow and introduce egg bits as food ingredients.
