Will I come back again in 6 months' time? No, there are better alternatives
My opinion:
Roast Paradise is a newcomer to Old Airport Road Food Centre and the owners sell traditional Singapore roasted delicacies. For this review, my mother and I have tried their char siew rice for $3.50.
We were completely stunned when we reached home and inspected our "goodies". There were only 7 pieces of char siew meat and moderate amount of rice. Garlic chili and sweet black sauce were considered "missing in action". Honestly, this was the first time in my mother's life that she ate char siew rice with zero sauce and so few meat ingredients (severe minus points).
Char siew meat was so little and small sized that a child could finish the food in less than 1 minute! Rice was awkward tasting, poorly cooked, rough and had mild soy sauce taste (omg).
In a nutshell, the food here was so poor that we almost blacklisted this stall. The owners should rename the stall "Roast Nightmare". Unless you have not eaten for 3 days and about to faint, our advice is to avoid this stall at all costs and visit the numerous meat rice alternatives in the same food centre.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
First, add more char siew into the food. Second, give customers a packet of garlic chili and a packet of sweet black sauce. Third, thoroughly review the rice's cooking process.
