My opinion:

IAAI sells traditional Singapore Muslim food including curry puffs, lontong, mee rebus, mee siam, mee soto and nasi lemak. Since IAAI is the only stall (monopoly) that sells a large variety of Muslim food at Havelock Road Food Centre, their dishes will sell out by 11.00 a.m. For this review, I decided to try out their mee rebus for breakfast.

The food was cooked in front of me and hot steam was sprouting out of the noodles when I tasted it (greatly increased my appetite). There were 4 pieces of tau pok, 1 full egg, bean sprouts, fried shallots and moderate amount of noodles in my food portion.

Tau pok was crispy, delicious and tasted like a real snack. Bean sprouts were crunchy and fresh. Noodles were well cooked and bathed in thick gravy. The gravy was flavorful but not too oily, salty or sticky (major plus points). Honestly, this was the best mee rebus gravy I have tasted in recent years.

In conclusion, the mee rebus was economical and heavenly tasting. If business owners cook their food with experience and passion, they can turn simple ingredients into great treats for their customers' taste buds. The Malay owners are strongly applauded for their good work. I will try out their other dishes to check for consistency. If you are a Muslim food fan living near Havelock Road and Tiong Bahru, IAAI's food is strongly recommended by my website.
