Will I come back again in 6 months' time? No, there are better alternatives
My opinion:
The name of this food stall is extremely misleading as it is not located in Bedok but in Kovan. The owners sell traditional Singapore char siew rice, chicken rice and roasted delicacies. For this food review, I have tried their char siew and roasted pork rice for lunch.
There were 5 pieces of char siew, 5 pieces of roasted pork and moderate amount of rice in my takeaway packet. To add insult to injury, the packet of garlic chili given was also the stingiest that I even from a Singapore hawker (major minus points). This amount of food would not satisfy the hunger of an adult.
Despite failing in the food quantity section, the food quality of this stall was exceptionally good. All the meat items were addictive, chewy and well roasted. Roasted pork skin was actually crispy and did not have a pungent oil taste. Rice was well cooked and did not suffered from dryness, roughness or sticky issues. Black sauce was not flavorful or thick enough for rice meals. Garlic chili was hot, robust and spicy enough to add a few last minute points to the food's flavor.
To sum up, this was a difficult review for me to write as the food here was good but too little to satisfy my hunger or craving for roasted delicacies. Unless you are a hardcore meat rice fan with a small appetite, my advice is to give this stall a miss and visit other tastier alternatives in the same food centre.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
First, add more chili, meat and rice for future customers. Second, make the black sauce thicker.
