My opinion:
This Marine Parade stall sells traditional Singapore Muslim food including ayam penyet and nasi lemak. For this food review, I have tried their $3.50 nasi lemak set E for lunch. There were 1 otah, 5 pieces of hot dog (1 hot dog), 4 pieces of fish cake, 1 cucumber slice, a few ikan bilis and moderate amount of rice in my takeaway packet.
Their hotdog, fishcake and otah were slightly larger than those sold by their competitors. The fishcake had an awkward oil smell (a sign that food had been over fried or the oil was "recycled" many times). Although the otah was fresh, it was average tasting and slightly rough on my mouth.
Ikan bilis was tasteless and not crispy enough. The rice lacked coconut milk fragrance and was a bit too soft. Sambal chili was sticky, too "weak" and did not mix well with the other food ingredients.
In a nutshell, the food here was economical but average tasting. Unless you are a hardcore fan of nasi lemak, my advice is to give this stall a miss and visit other tastier food alternatives in the same food centre.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
First, do not reuse the oil too many times in cooking the food items. Second, review the otah's preparation process. Third, ensure the crispiness of the ikan bilis. Fourth, add more coconut milk and reduce the amount of water in the rice's cooking process. Fifth, increase the spiciness of the red chili sauce.
