My opinion:
Ming Fa means "bright and rich" in Chinese. The owners specializes in traditional Singapore egg noodles and were featured in Mediacorp's "Where The Queue Starts 2". For this review, I decided to try out their wanton noodles for lunch.
There were 3 steamed wantons, 5 char siew slices, 1 bowl of soup and moderate amount of noodles in my food portions. Oh this goodness for $2.50! Steamed wantons were chewy and tasty. Wanton skin was silky smooth and mixed well with the meat ingredients. Char siew slices were juicy, soft, tender and had a few charred portions.
Noodles were delicious, springy, well cooked and one of the best that I have tasted in recent years (major plus points). Noodle sauce was flavorful, thick and had a traditional taste. Red chili was robust, not too spicy and combined flawlessly with the noodle sauce. Green chili slices were considered "missing in action".
In conclusion, the food here was cheap, shiok and could satisfy my weekly craving for wanton noodles. If you are a fan of egg noodles, 51 Ming Fa is highly recommended by my website.
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
First, they are applauded and are advised to keep up the good work. I will also visit them regularly to check for consistency. Second, the owners should add some green chili slices to their food.
