My opinion:
Jian Huat sells traditional Singapore char siew rice, duck rice and roasted delicacies. I have tried their char siew and roasted pork rice for $3.00. There were 9 pieces of char siew, 7 pieces of roasted pork and huge amount of rice in my takeaway packet.
Char siew was rough, lean and had charred portions. Roasted pork was not too oily or salty. In fact, it was too mild tasting and did not have crispy skin. Rice was dry, sticky and did not mix well with the watery sauce. Chili was too "weak" to add any last minute bonus points for the food.
Therefore, I will advise my blog readers to try out other food alternatives in neighboring Old Airport Road Food Centre (Block 51).
Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:
Review the roasted meat's preparation and production process. Make sure the chili is "strong" enough for rice meals.
