My opinion:

Heng means "arising" or "luck" in Chinese. This stall sells traditional Singapore ban mian and porridge. Both of their dishes cost $3.00 each. I have tried their pork porridge for breakfast.

The owners were generous in giving out ingredients. There were 6 pieces of pork meat, 3 pork balls, 3 slices of pork liver, 1 egg, you zha kueh pieces and huge amount of porridge in my bowl. This amount of ingredients could satisfy the hunger of 2 young children.

Sadly, the food quality could not match the excellent food quantity. All the meat items were dry, rough and small sized. The owners should not have dumped the you zha kueh pieces into the hot porridge as it would make them moist and less crispy.

Although porridge was not too sticky, it was also flavorless and only had a mild salty taste. In the end, I had to abandon the food after only eating 50 percent of it. Wasting food was considered a sin in most religions.

To sum up, the food here was economical, plentiful but had significant amount of flaws that prevented me from visiting them in the near future. For my blog readers who are not fans of porridge, I will suggest they visit other stalls in the food centre or neighboring coffee shops.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

They are strongly advised to review the meat and porridge preparation processes. You zha kueh should be crispy and handed to customers in one entire piece.
